The story behind The Little Acre

Why The Little Acre exists

The studio was created to offer a more thoughtful, strategic approach to design, one that values listening as much as creating. We saw too many businesses investing in design that looked good on the surface but lacked direction underneath.

At The Little Acre, we believe:

  • Design should be aligned with business goals

  • Strategy and creativity work best together

  • Collaboration leads to stronger, more meaningful outcomes

Our name reflects this philosophy. Like an acre of land, brands need care, patience and the right foundations to grow. Even small beginnings, when nurtured well, can become something lasting.

From Northern California to New Zealand

The Little Acre was founded by Creative Director Liora Pine with a clear belief: that good design should help people tell their stories with clarity, intention and confidence. Raised in Northern California, Liora grew up surrounded by oak-covered hills and open landscapes.

Settling in the Waikato, the sense of space, community and connection to land felt immediately familiar, and The Little Acre began to take shape, grounded in thoughtful design and long-term thinking.

What continues to guide us

While the studio has grown, our values remain consistent and continue to shape how we work and who we work with.

  • Thoughtful, refined design

  • Clear communication and trust

  • Long-term thinking over quick fixes

Every project is approached with care, curiosity and a genuine investment in our clients’ success, ensuring the work we create is considered, purposeful and built to last.
