Wearing Many Hats and Finding My Why

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from owning multiple businesses, it’s that every chapter teaches you something new, about people, creativity, and what it really takes to run a business that feels right.

Before The Little Acre, there was Toodles Noodles, my first foray into product design and retail. It started as a small creative outlet and quickly grew into a full-fledged brand, stocked in shops across New Zealand and beyond. Those years taught me the ins and outs of doing markets, expos, and both retail and wholesale online, and how much heart goes into every detail when you’re the maker, marketer, and accountant all rolled into one.

Then came Flourish, a pilates studio and community built from scratch. I managed contractors, product purchasing and sales, class bookings, and events - all while building a community. Flourish taught me how to scale a business, build systems, fill workshops, and eventually sell it on. An experience that gave me a deep respect for both the art and the logistics of running a thriving small business.

And now, with The Little Acre, everything has come full circle. I get to combine all those lessons: the creative energy of a product brand, the operational know-how of a busy studio, and my years of design experience - all to help others bring their stories to life.

Running three businesses over 13 years hasn’t just given me experience, it’s given me empathy. I know what it feels like to juggle ten roles at once, to make bold decisions, and to pour your heart into something you believe in.

That’s why The Little Acre isn’t just a design studio. We partner with clients on the strategic side of their business, too. We align design with goals, refine messaging, and support them to build brands that not only look beautiful but work beautifully behind the scenes.

If you’re building something special and need a creative partner who truly understands what it’s like to wear all the hats, we’ve got you sorted.
